Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been charged with a minor sexual offense, according to a criminal complaint filed by police investigators in a court in Albany. There was confusion about whether the demand document was published intentionally or not.
The one-page document filed by investigators with the Albany County Sheriff’s Office mentions allegations against Cuomo that he had put his hand under a woman’s shirt on December 7, 2020. It did not identify the woman, but Cuomo has previously been publicly accused of groping. his aide Brittany Commisso at a house in Albany, around the date mentioned in the document.
The Office of District Attorney David Soares, which is involved in the investigation, issued a statement saying it was negligent in filing the document.
“As citizens of the community, we were surprised today to learn that a criminal complaint was filed in the Albany City Court by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office against Andrew Cuomo,” the statement read.
He added, “Since then the Court’s Administrative Office has disclosed the filing of the lawsuit to the public. Our office will not comment further on the case.”
