The Duchess of Cambridge delivers a keynote address Tuesday (19/10) at the launch of the ‘Taking Action on Addiction’ campaign, in London.
Kate is a patron of the charity The Forward Trust and the special campaign hopes to help remove the stigma associated with addiction. In her speech, the Duchess of Cambridge said society needed to start treating addiction “with care and empathy” and treat it as a mental health condition.
“We need to value and prioritize care and support, assist in recovery and connect each individual who is clearly suffering, with those around them,” Kate explains.
Kate also thanked those in attendance for sharing their addiction experiences with her. [mg/jm]
