Former US President Bill Clinton, 75, was rushed to an Irvine, California hospital two days ago for treatment for a “non-covid infection”, a spokesman said.
“On Tuesday (12/10) evening former President Bill Clinton was admitted to UCI Medical Center for treatment of a non-covid infection,” Clinton spokeswoman Angel Urena said on Twitter.
“He is (currently) recovering, in good spirits, and very grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff who gave him such excellent care,” said Urena.
CNN television reported that Clinton was placed in an intensive care unit, primarily to provide him with privacy, and he was not using a breathing machine, according to the doctor who treated the former president at the University of California Irvine Medical Center.
Clinton’s current condition is not related to past heart problems or COVID-19, CNN said. (ka/rs)
