Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro said on Sunday (10/10) that the COVID-19 protocol at the football match prevented him from attending the game.
Bolsonaro said he wanted to go to the match in the city of Santos, but couldn’t because he was not vaccinated against the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Why a vaccine passport? I wanted to watch it in Santos, and they said he had to be vaccinated. Why is it like this?” Bolsonaro asked reporters near Santos.
Bolsonaro is currently under investigation by the Senate over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, more than 600,000 people have died from COVID-19 in Brazil. [em/jm]
