10 Injuries in Nirawak Plane Attack at Saudi King Abdullah Airport

Ten people were injured Friday in an explosive-laden drone strike at King Abdullah airport in the southern Saudi city of Jizan, state news agency said. SPA quoted a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition.

The coalition spokesman added that six Saudis, three Bangladeshis and one Sudanese were injured. Several windows of the airport’s facade were also shattered in the attack.

A Saudi-led military coalition intervened in Yemen in 2015, supporting forces of ousted President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi’s government and fighting the Iran-aligned Houthi group.

The Houthis gave no claim of responsibility for the attack, but the group regularly launches drone and missile attacks targeting the Saudi kingdom. [ah/rs]
