Ahead of the Launch of their New Album, ABBA Releases 2 New Singles

Through their Twitter account, the legendary Swedish music group, ABBA, invites their fans to listen to their two newest songs, “I Still Have Faith in You” and “Don’t Shut Me Down”.

Benny Andersson, a member of ABBA who is now 74 years old, said, “I think the album is quite good. I must say that we have done as well as possible at our age.”

Bjorn Ulvaeus, member of ABBA (76 years), added, “At our age, there is something deep, namely the music and the lyrics as a whole. And of course, how they sing and perform the song, everything, including the many experiences and years of time. -years that I hope people can feel.”

Both singles are included in ABBA’s latest album. “Voyage” which will be released on November 5th. The album is a follow-up to 1981’s “Visitor”, which was the Swedish supergroup’s last album before their long hiatus.

Bjorn added, “We finally did it, walked into the recording studio and knew that if the record wasn’t good enough, we would never release it. So we feel really proud. There’s also an old adage in the music industry that says, you shouldn’t take a break beyond 40. years after releasing the album.”

ABBA released the video clip for “I Still Have Faith in You” some time ago using archive footage of the video clip “Super Troupers.” ABBA also features a collection of their old photos combined with video footage from their heyday, until their last tour in Japan in 1980.

Through the video clip, ABBA also wants to show their appearance in digital form or “Abbatars”, which will be performed in a virtual music concert in London on 27 May 2022.

Bjorn Ulvaeus says, “We were advised to tour as a hologram, four or five years ago. We soon found that it was no longer possible because holograms were an obsolete technology. But the vision that we could be digitally created, it was possible.”

The song “Don’t Shut Me Down” tells the story of a woman who tries to get close to her partner after being separated for years. [lj/uh]
