Jojo Wins First Badminton Asian Games Gold

Jonatan Christie succeeded in presenting the first gold medal in badminton for the men’s singles number, in the match which took place at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/8).

In the midst of the boisterous support of the audience, Jojo defeated the badminton player from China Taipei, Chou Tien Chen. Winning the first set with a score of 21-18, Jojo had lost in the second set with a score of 20-22. But Jojo got up in the third set and beat Tien Chen with a score of 21-15.

With the gold medal from Jojo, Indonesia has collected a total of 23 gold medals. Until this news was published, Tuesday afternoon, Indonesia remained in fourth place with a total of 68 medals. [ft/au]
